Bund Deutscher Philatelisten (BDPh) e.V. presents itself
Like-minded enthusiasts join up all over the world. Stamp-collectors in Germany gathered shortly after the issue of the first stamps in collectors societies, like for example in Heidelberg in 1869. It is worth noting that a joint association was founded soon afterwards, which was succeeded by the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten (BDPh) e.V., the umbrella association of all German stamp-collectors and philatelists which today has over 65,000 members.
In approximately 1,200 local societies and more than 200 specialized work-groups the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten provides a wide choice for a philatelist home. So it is not surprising that numerous philatelists from all over the world have joined the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten e.V.
As advocate of the interests of all collectors, the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten e.V. is an important and respected partner of those who are responsible for the issue of stamps such as the German ministry of finance, German Postal AG and the philatelist trade.
Guarantor for this is a highly dedicated managerial team around the president of the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten e.V. which run the association from the “Haus der Philatelie und Postgeschichte”
(House of Philately and Postal History) in Bonn.
Here they work both for the future of the association and of philately on the whole.
For its members the Bund Deutscher Philatelisten e.V. presents a great number of service offers. Each member receives monthly an 84-page philatelist magazine with top-class articles, reviews, news, reports on collector’s safeguard, prevention of forgery and about national and international exhibitons. Much appreciated are the annual free Search-and-Swap ads. So it is not wonder that in 2002 “philatelie” was awarded the Grand Prix by Académie Européene de Philatélie aks Europe’s best specialist periodical.
